    “We used this company to help us remodel a tired 1930's house with lots of small dark rooms into a stunning bright and airy modern home. Their vision was fantastic adding a full height front extension to bring the stairs out of the central footprint, creating extra space and bringing light to the previously dark front spaces. This created a full height entrance hall and helped give us two extra rooms in a previously small attic space. Internally they tied all the spaces together with clever design features giving us a house where every space is used and the house is quite literally a joy to live in! They persuaded us to invest in making the external envelope as air tight and well insulated as possible and fit an MVHR system. Initially we were very sceptical but are now delighted with the thermal performance of the house both in summer and winter. They were thoroughly professional throughout dealing positively and practically with the inevitable challenges along the way. Our contractor had never done anything like this before and they supported him technically when necessary. Their clever design and attention to detail added significantly to the value of the finished property and we could never have achieved this on our own.”

    “The team at Astrid Architects have helped save my sanity over the last 18 months and I would recommend them wholeheartedly. They got involved about 12 months into my project - which was turning a victorian commercial office building in a conservation area into a residential home for myself and my husband, with a small commercial unit attached. The architects I worked with before finding Astrid provided drawings as requested, but left it to me to navigate the complexities of the planning and building control process. Having never done anything like this before - I was completely lost and my stress levels were rising, particularly as the budget kept getting pushed up and up. But from the first planning meeting with Holly, I felt the stress slip away! Holly and Kate guided me through every step of the process and took responsibility for liaising with the planning and building control teams. When issues cropped up (which happened frequently!), they always responded quickly and helpfully to get things resolved. When it came to the plans, they came up with some great ideas to help me make the most of the space and remained cognisant of my budget throughout. I'm really not sure I would have got to the end of this project had it not been for their support, professionalism and attention to detail.”

    “I’ve worked with this company a few times now and have been thrilled with all aspects of our dealings. We have had both basement conversion plans done (with building regs all sorted for us etc) and have had a ground floor extension planned, built and supported by the team. We’ve been so happy with the results of our extension and the space really has maximised our space and transformed our home. We found Spencer brilliant to work with. He’s always gotten to know exactly what we are looking to achieve and has listened to my crazy ideas, but then always come up with a way to achieve them (or he’s often come up with far better alternatives!) We’ve also had support from the company in the form of party wall representation when there was building work next to our house and this was a great comfort to know there was someone who took time to get to know our house so well and was there to ensure we remained protected throughout the experience. I really would highly recommend to anyone.”
