“I love our Weather Queen Shades! Ever since the day they were installed in early June we haven't missed a night sleeping in our porch (and it's now October in Minnesota!). My favorite nights are the rainy ones when the shades are down. Those nights it feels like we are miles away from home sleeping in a tent, a yurt, or a Japanese tea house. It's cozy, private, dry and beautiful in there. Buying Weather Queen Shades is the best thing we've ever done for our house, second only to building the screen porch. “We first worked with Jody Trovall of Interior View Window Fashions when she assisted us with window treatments for all of our windows. She was so helpful with extensive experience. Jody made an overwhelming process fun and easy. It was such a great experience that a year later we again hired Jody to help us select a new tile floor for our hall, kitchen, and front entry. Another overwhelming task for us so it was Jody to the rescue again! She helped us pick out a great tile that we absolutely love. We look at our window treatments and tile floor and have fond memories of Jody. So now our kitchen needs an update and without a second thought we contacted Jody whom is currently working on the project. We sure couldn't tackle that project without her! Plus Jody is super fun and nice as well as very professional and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Jody Trovall for any home improvement project you may have!”

They listened to what we described as options we preferred, showed us choices within and outside of our comfort zone (as we requested), carefully measured and skillfully installed the window treatments. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
