“Sine’s flooring of Cobourg and Brighton installed dark oak hardwood flooring in our living - dining room , kitchen , spacious upper hallway and 4 bedrooms , after their workers first removed the existing flooring materials . The flooring installation was excellent ; the work went smoothly , was timely and and looks lovely . Larry Sine , manager and co- owner was always congenial and available if we needed to speak with him . The contract price was good and we would recommend this company without any hesitation .”

“We bought a new house and needed window covers for our living room and kitchen.In Internet search I found a company 'Golden Needle Drapery' and called them. Natalia and Daria came over to make an estimate and they demonstrated a lot of interesting design ideas of how they would decorate our windows and materials for this. I choose a style and textiles. Natalia drew the sketch for visualizing our future window drapes. After few days Natalia came to our house for installation. Wow! That was amazing process! She installed all hardware (rods, railings) by herself. And then she hung on the most gorgeous drapes I ever seen in my life!.. I felt like a queen in the castle )) I couldn't even imagine that it could be such amazing product! We LOVE our new drapes! Very professional and highly recommended! Natalia, you are the BEST!”

“I hired Sensational Seams to give me a new look for my bedroom. I hired them in 1999 to do my whole house with blinds, drapes, bedding, kitchen place mats and chair covers. I wanted a new look for my bedroom and asked Wilma, the owner, to come and give me some ideas. We selected the materials and design and I am so very very pleased with everything. When she finished making and hanging the drapery, bed spread , shams & pillows I cannot tell you how pleased I was with the results. I have had many wonderful comments on the design and material. I would highly recommend this company.”

“I recently completed my home reno and found Crazy Joe's Drapery in Scarborough online which is very near where I live. I went in with my measurements, where they showed me an array of fabrics in the colour and style I was looking for. The very next day the installer came to verify my measurements. I then got a call some time later letting me know my drapes were ready; the very next day the installer came, installed the rods and hung my drapes. Customer service is usually great when things go perfect, but the real test of a company's commitment to customer service is how they treat the customer when things aren't perfect. I had a small problem with my sheers, which I knew would need altering. I called Ted he told me bring them in right away and Myrtle and I would figure out a solution. Two days later I was all fixed up. This was probably the most important part of the transaction and I couldn't be HAPPIER with the way it was handled. I wanted to be sure to take the time to write a review for Ted & Myrtle; so often we find time to complain but rarely to praise. I feel it important to put forth that effort when customer service goes right! Installing custom drapes is a small investment, and it is a pleasure to have walked away from the experience completely satisfied with my expenditure.”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
