She never applied pressure to choose more expensive options or add one. Also, her eye for color, texture, and style was on point. “Julie was terrific. It was a small job, new window treatments (4 windows) in a master bedroon. She arrivied on time, brought samples as I requested and was very helpful in the selection of fabric. I was replacing old designer drapes so I knew what I wanted and she understood. She kept things simple and easy, wonderful to work with. Drapes arrives earlier than expected, and the installer she suggested was perfect. He arrived, and as predicted was able to mount the brackets and solve my problem of old, crumbling plaster. Drapes are installed and look lovely. Gail Richards”

“Love working with Frank! He knows me so well. His prices are reasonable for the products and his knowledge of what he sells is amazing. Years after I bought my home and had blinds installed in the builder's program, I contacted him to help with two fan lights above windows that let in too much sun in our living room, and for a better blind in our bump out window that matched our current blinds in our master bedroom. Another year went by and I had changed the color of paint in my Kitchen while it went under renovation. He found a shade in the same color as my paint. It was lovely and looked great with all the white trim. Now, I've asked his company to donate some window coverings for a home being built for a disabled vet and his caregiver family, and he has stepped up to help them out. What a true professional he is.”

“I wanted some window treatments for my bathroom, sunroom, and drapes for my bedroom, unfortunately, I wasn't sure what I wanted or needed. Becky, very patiently, helped me decide on the types of treatments, the fabrics, and the type of installation. And when I dithered, Becky very patiently waited for my decisions.. “I had a very unusual window in a high-rise condo that I wanted to dress up. The window is part of the building's curtain wall so doesn't have standard framing around it, and an HVAC duct in front of it would keep traditional shutters from swinging open. Andy and I discussed options for light and sound management, plus aesthetics, and he proposed a combination of room-darkening honeycomb blinds with remote control and plantations shutters held on with magnets to a custom frame built around the window. I liked his ideas and absolutely love the final result. I also replaced damaged vertical blinds in another room with remote controlled honeycomb blinds after going over the options with Andy. I was very pleased with his ability to think of unique solutions to my particular problems and to work with me towards a final design. Installation was also very well done. I strongly recommend Montgomery Blinds for shutters and blinds for any situation, but particularly if you have any window that is out of the ordinary.”

“I had Style Redux review the window treatments in my townhome, which I am preparing to sell. I am a single man who has lived in this home for about 10 years so the window treatments were minimal and rather plain to say the least. Ms. Weatherbie (Style Redux) spent considerable time with me discussing my interests, needs, and (especially) my budget. She then came back with several alternatives, varying the approach from one room to another based on furnishings and what she sensed of my tastes. I am not a person who pays a lot of attention to the nuances of color and fabric, but Ms. Weatherbie proposed drapes and other window treatments that are tasteful and within my budget. She delivered designs and talked through them with me, delivered finished products when she promised, and oversaw their installation. I could not be happier with her work and will use her services on my new home when the opportunity permits.”

Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
