“We ordered our custom shutters from Rockwood Shutters through Home Depot. They came out and did an initial measurement for a quote and then once we decided to pull the trigger they came back for a more precise measurement by the person who would be doing the installation. Measuring for plantation shutters isn't easy and they're not an inexpensive option so this was something we wanted to leave to the pros. They were great and I'd definitely recommend them. Extremely knowledgeable about the product and super friendly. Not only were they great with the install and product but they were just genuinely nice people which to me is very important when someone is in your home. Would definitely use them again.”

“Rachael was God sent for me. As an interior designer, I am NOT a window treatment professional. She lives right in my neighborhood and was there all the time. Her workroom is super organized, smoke free and her work impeccable! The first time I met her at my clients home to discuss ideas for her home, she was prepared with sketches made from the photos I had sent her and a ton of fabric samples. She has also done work for me with me providing the fabric. Her installation crew is the best. We schedule installs and her company follows through and on time. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
