“I worked with Alex Shekhtman when his design/build firm operated in Maryland, on three major projects and a couple of small ones. Our first project was the complete renovation of our walk-out basement level in 2004. This space, including a family room with built-in bookcases, stone fireplace surround, large bay picture window, spa bathroom, and exercise room, is a primary living level for our family. The second major project was the repair of a major portion of our roof, attic, and an office room after a massive tree fell on our home in 2010. This project entailed repair of the slate roof over half of our home, truss repair in the attic, and repair of plaster interior walls. The third project was the remodeling of our master bedroom suite in 2013, to transform an adjacent office room into a truly fabulous bathroom with walk-in glass-walled shower, double sinks, soaking tub, and "water closet". This was our "dream bathroom" and continues to delight us every day. We engaged Alex's firm for other projects in between these major ones, including a powder room renovation, ceiling repair after a water leak, and installation of a new bay window in our kitchen. Alex listened carefully to our opinions and needs, assisted with vendor and product selection, and kept us fully informed and involved all along the way. His team here in Maryland comprised construction professionals who could do it all -- electrical, plumbing, tile work, cabinet installation, painting, window installation, you name it. They showed up on time, worked full days, and left a clean workspace every day. As a general contractor, Alex hired only the best. I am confident that his team in Florida is similarly talented and reliable.”
