New Build Eco Homes - Southdown, Bath
We are thrilled to introduce our recently approved residential design, bringing new vibrancy to the southern suburbs of Bath. Once a dilapidated bungalow, this development proposal proudly hosts two semi-detached eco homes.
We have adopted a ‘fabric first’ approach, implementing a SIP panel system in tandem with extensive airtightness measures. This will ensure we have a solid base for high energy efficiency. To further enhance thermal performance, we've integrated localized renewable energy sources such as ground-source heat pumps and solar panels. This strategic combination not only future-proofs these properties, but also significantly reduces their carbon footprint.
Our design seamlessly blends contemporary elements with the traditional aesthetics of the surrounding area. The front façade boasts split-face ashlar blockwork, crowned with a carved horizontal corbel. Contrasting with a striking large feature window and a protruding zinc surround, which elegantly frames a double-height entrance space. Achieving harmony among these diverse building elements posed a challenge, but we are delighted with the outcome.
