Blake was extremely knowledgeable about every product and also very accommodating and resourceful. He made himself readily available for home visits and was very quick to respond to any questions/needs that we had. “We just had Craig at Specialty Shades measure and install our entire home for shades. We just remodeled and needed every room done. He was meticulous. Craig's installation was fast, clean and beautiful. We ordered Comfortex shades and if we had a question he contacted the company and handled everything. I would definitely use him again.”

Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
