Back-to-brick refurbishment in Queen's Park
This Victorian mid terraced family house in Queens Park was given a full scale back-to-brick refurbishment, including a side return extension and loft conversion, to add an additional bedroom en-suite.
The client was looking to achieve a contemporary feel to the house that worked within a Victorian framework. Internal walls were removed to create more space and allow light to flow through and original features such as the cornicing and central roses were restored to add character.
A beautiful blue/black contemporary kitchen was fitted and complimented by crittall doors to the rear and stunning encaustic tiles on the floor. A reclaimed parquet floor was laid throughout the rest of the ground floor, working well with the more Victorian features of the property. Pops of colour in the main bathroom and children’s bedrooms counter the muted tones throughout.
The scheme was designed to ensure a balance of old and new and to create a light & airy interior. By mixing different styles the end result is a beautifully considered refurbishment that has a timeless appeal.
