Talbot Road, Notting Hill, W11

Huntsmore project managed the entire design and build phase of this full renovation in Notting Hill. The property was a flat in a Victorian conversion close to Portobello Road which had not been renovated for sometime. The client wanted to created a visually impressive open plan space that had a bar area suitable to entertaining and hosting parties.

Huntsmore organised the design and layout concepts to be drafted, and once approved organised the build works. This involved building a large tower unit and a steel framework to create a large ‘pass-through’ area serving as the bar. The tower unit also incorporated a wine cooler in the base. The kitchen was hand-painted by Huntsmore to match the rich blue colour on the walls.

The electrics and central heating were all overhauled, with gun-metal column radiators installed. Bespoke cabinetry and wardrobes were also built to pack in as much storage as possible. These were build in the bedrooms, the hallway and either side of the chimney breast. Period features were reinstated, with Huntsmore sourcing the marble fireplace surround as well as the plaster coving that were installed throughout.

The original flooring was retained, with hardwearing floor paint applied to give the rich contrasting colour. To complete the renovation, a traditional bathroom suite created, with Fired Earth floor and wall tiles to give a timeless finish. The project took around three months, including both design and construction stages.
