North London Terrace
This detached North London house had a 1980's UPVC conservatory extension and a poorly laid out rotten wood terrace linking it to the garden. Both were in need of updating.
Peter Reader Landscapes worked in close partnership with Robert Hirshfield Architects (www.roberthirschfield.com) who were commissioned to design a new modern extension to replace the conservatory. They developed a new terrace that enhanced the new space and atmosphere created by the new extension and added to the modern look. The old terrace had a poor utilisation of the flow and space, and also made the area feel separate from the garden. The new terraces resolve these problems giving two levels of terrace areas to sit in and closely linking the garden and the house.
