ULAH Interiors + DesignOur clients wanted to renovate and update their guest bathroom to be more appealing to guests and their gatherings. We decided to go dark and moody with a hint of rustic and a touch of glam. We picked white calacatta quartz to add a point of contrast against the charcoal vertical mosaic backdrop. Gold accents and a custom solid walnut vanity cabinet designed by Buck Wimberly at ULAH Interiors + Design add warmth to this modern design. Wall sconces, chandelier, and round mirror are by Arteriors. Charcoal grasscloth wallpaper is by Schumacher.

Amy Carman DesignWhen planning this custom residence, the owners had a clear vision – to create an inviting home for their family, with plenty of opportunities to entertain, play, and relax and unwind. They asked for an interior that was approachable and rugged, with an aesthetic that would stand the test of time. Amy Carman Design was tasked with designing all of the millwork, custom cabinetry and interior architecture throughout, including a private theater, lower level bar, game room and a sport court. A materials palette of reclaimed barn wood, gray-washed oak, natural stone, black windows, handmade and vintage-inspired tile, and a mix of white and stained woodwork help set the stage for the furnishings. This down-to-earth vibe carries through to every piece of furniture, artwork, light fixture and textile in the home, creating an overall sense of warmth and authenticity.
Design Me By MahlahThe theme for the design of these four bathrooms was Coastal Americana. My clients wanted classic designs that incorporated color, a coastal feel, and were fun.
The master bathroom stands out with the interesting mix of tile. We maximized the tall sloped ceiling with the glass tile accent wall behind the freestanding bath tub. A simple sandblasted "wave" glass panel separates the wet area. Shiplap walls, satin bronze fixtures, and wood details add to the beachy feel.
The three guest bathrooms, while having tile in common, each have their own unique vanities and accents. Curbless showers and frameless glass opened these rooms up to feel more spacious. The bits of blue in the floor tile lends just the right pop of blue.
Custom fabric roman shades in each room soften the look and add extra style.

Lord DesignThis bathroom used to be a very small, poorly organized space with very little natural light. By moving the closet into an adjoining bedroom, which we opened up to the ne bathroom, we were able to reorganize the space beautifully. There is now ample storage, great light a huge steam shower and a huge walk in closet.

Noble Johnson ArchitectsTiny House bathroom

Noble Johnson Architects was honored to partner with Huseby Homes to design a Tiny House which was displayed at Nashville botanical garden, Cheekwood, for two weeks in the spring of 2021. It was then auctioned off to benefit the Swan Ball. Although the Tiny House is only 383 square feet, the vaulted space creates an incredibly inviting volume. Its natural light, high end appliances and luxury lighting create a welcoming space.

And it’s probably good to consider your flooring or surfaces, and walls to make sure everything will complement. Large vanity units will have drawers and compartments to store a great number of toiletries and bathroom necessities, and if your bathroom or cloakroom has room for a built-in cupboard you can start storing small accessories and larger items there. When it comes to flooring, tiles will be durable, easy to clean and deal well with water, but if you want something different you could go with modern concrete, traditional or country-style treated wooden floorboards, or a bit more quirky bamboo, cork or vinyl. The best small bathroom ideas will maximise the space you have. From installing a bidet to simple decorative tips there are plenty of things you can do to make it look bigger. Recessed shelves can make a huge difference both visually and practically to small bathrooms, so if you are able to have these installed when your walls are being renovated you could add some to your shower or sink area. You could choose pale colours and iridescent tiles that reflect the light, keep walls and ceilings the same colour and texture, and use complementary shades throughout the bathroom– fewer contrasts and transitions will help maintain the sense of space.
