Historic Parkland Country House by Barnes Walker Landscape Architects Manchester

In 2010 Barnes Walker Ltd were commissioned to prepare an estate masterplan for the restoration and conservation of the parkland, garden and surrounding of a new country house in Cheshire.
The parkland was originally designed by the renowned English Landscape Architect Edward Kemp in the late 1800’s. The large gothic style Victorian villa was demolished and new plans to create a substantial stone hall were drawn up by the architect Robert Adam, requiring a new landscape to compliment the classical architecture.
Proposals included the enhancement and enlargement of the existing woodland, restoration and enhancement of the parkland. A series of garden spaces were laid out around the hall in accordance with Kemp’s design methodology.
Barnes Walker prepared drawings and reports for the planning application, tender process and detailed design. All planting was designed and implemented by Barnes Walker Ltd. The photos were taken on completion.
