We are proud to announce that our firm has won the 2010 Santa Barbara Beautiful award for Best Small Single Family Residence. The project was a whole-house remodel of a modest Mesa house on the Mesa. We didn’t add any new space to the house, but we opened up the interior, making the house more light and livable. We gave it all new windows and, insulation, and new energy- efficient heating and lighting (the energy budget was 50% less than allowed by state code). We gave the nondescript post-war house a warm Craftsman look, which the judges loved.
