The Battersbys - White and Blue Plywood Kitchen

Cool, calm and curated are the words we’d use to describe the Battersby’s white and blue plywood kitchen. Using clear mid-century influences – but without making the space feel dated – we enjoyed working alongside the family to create a kitchen/diner space in their lovely Victorian semi. This L-shaped kitchen layout swept across two walls, leaving the centre of the room free to accommodate the family dining table. We kept tall larder units to a minimum, and placed them behind the door so that they wouldn’t impose on a nice clear view of the garden. An induction hob, and an under-mounted stainless steel sink inset into a white Corian worktop, helped to keep the kitchen lines clean and uncluttered, giving the impression of more space. To avoid the space appearing too simple, some illuminated open shelving in pops of yellow were introduced, nicely providing some decorative elements within the overall scheme.
