Alexander KitchensThe Brief
The brief for this Shoreham Beach client left our Contract Kitchen team challenged to create a design and layout to make the most of beautiful sea views and a large open plan living space.
The client specified a minimalist theme which would complement the coastal surroundings and modern decor utilised for other areas in the property.
Design Elements
The shape of this newly built area meant a single wall of units was favourable, with a 4.3 metre island running adjacent to the long run of full-height cabinetry. To add separation to this long run, a desired drink and food-prep area has been placed close to the Juliette balcony.
The single wall layout contributes to the minimal feel of this space, chosen in a Alpine White finish with discrete integrated handleware for the same reason.
The chosen furniture is from German manufacturer Nobilia’s Lux collection, an extremely durable gloss kitchen option. A high-gloss furniture finish has been chosen to reflect light around this large space, but also to compliment chrome accents elsewhere in the property.
Special Inclusions
Durable Corian work surfaces have been used throughout the kitchen, but most impressively upon the island where no visible joins can be seen along the entire 4.3 metres. A seamless waterfall edge on the island and dual sinks also make use of the Grey Onyx Corian surface.
An array of high-specification Neff cooking and refrigeration appliances have been utilised, concealed behind cabinetry where possible. Another exciting inclusion is the BORA Pure induction venting hob, placed upon the island close to the Quooker boiling water tap also specified.
To add luxurious flashes to this room, a multitude of lighting options have been incorporated, including integrated plinth and undercabinet lighting.
Project Highlight
In addition to the kitchen, a built-in TV and storage area was required.
This part of the room is a fantastic highlight that makes use of handleless stone-effect furniture from Nobilia’s Riva range. To sit atop of cabinetry and the benched seating area Stellar Grey Silestone workstops have been incorporated.
The End Result
The outcome of this project is a fantastic open plan kitchen area that delivers upon all elements of this client’s brief. Our Contract Kitchen team have delivered a wonderful design to capture the minimalist theme required by the client.

Audus KitchensOur client wanted a kitchen that would effortlessly blend form and function, focusing on maximising space and providing practical storage solutions.
They envisioned a space with plenty of drawers and pullouts, ensuring easy accessibility to all their kitchen essentials. Durability and long-lasting wear were paramount; they wanted a kitchen that would stand the test of time. But above all, they desired a sleek and minimalistic design, with all worktop appliances cleverly hidden away to create a clutter-free, easy-to-clean and maintain-friendly environment.
Embracing a warm and feminine palette, we chose the Nobilia Sand - Anti-Fingerprint range to set the tone for this elegant kitchen. The soft, neutral shades create a soothing ambience, while the anti-fingerprint technology ensures that the surfaces stay pristine, even with daily use.
To add a striking focal point to the kitchen, we incorporated a 20mm Trillium worktop supplied by Dekton. This bold statement piece adds character and offers excellent durability, making it an ideal choice for a kitchen that demands style and functionality.
As for the appliances, we carefully selected the best in the market to complement the kitchen's design and meet our client's needs. The Siemens Ovens provide state-of-the-art cooking capabilities, while the Quooker Tap offers instant boiling water for ultimate convenience. The Elica-Nikola Tesla downdraft Hob delivers efficient ventilation and boasts a sleek and seamless appearance, perfectly aligning with the kitchen's handless design.
To further enhance the kitchen's functionality, we incorporated some clever features, including sliding doors that lead to a hidden walk-in utility space, ensuring easy access to laundry essentials while keeping them discreetly tucked away.
In line with our client's desire for practicality, we added a hidden pullout shelf on the worktop, specially designed to accommodate their heavy Thermomix, making it easily accessible when needed and neatly stowed away when not in use.
The island, a central gathering spot, also serves as additional storage space with carefully crafted storage options on the back, making the most of every inch of the kitchen's layout.
This kitchen project is a testament to our commitment to making our client's vision a reality. With a focus on space optimisation, practicality, and a feminine touch, this Nobilia kitchen has been transformed into a functional, elegant, and timeless space that our clients will enjoy for many years to come.

Pohl ArchitectsThe property is a Victorian mid-terrace family home in London Fields, within the Graham Road & Mapledene Conservation Area.
The property is a great example of a period Victorian terraced house with some fantastic original details still in tact. Despite this the property was in poor condition and desperately needed extensive refurbishment and upgrade. As such a key objective of the brief was to overhaul the existing property, and replace all roof finishes, windows, plumbing, wiring, bathrooms, kitchen and internal fixtures & finishes.
Despite the generous size of the property, an extension was required to provide a new open plan kitchen, dining and living hub. The new wraparound extension was designed to retain a large rear courtyard which had dual purpose: firstly the courtyard allowed a generous amount of daylight and natural ventilation into the new dining area, existing rear reception/ study room and the new downstairs shower room and utility zone. Secondly, as the property is end of terrace a side access from the street already existed, therefore the rear courtyard allowed a second access point at the centre of the ground floor plan. Around this entrance are located a new cloaks area, ground floor WC and shower room, together with a large utility zone providing most of the utilities and storage requirements for the property.
At first floor the bathroom was reconfigured and increased in size, and the ceilings to both the bathroom and bedroom within the rear projection were vaulted, creating a much greater sense of space, and also allowing rooflights to bring greater levels of daylight and ventilation into these rooms.
The property was fully refitted with new double glazed sash windows to the front and new timber composite windows to the rear. A new heating system was installed throughout, including new column radiators to all rooms, and a hot water underfloor heating system to the rear extension. The existing cellar was damp proofed and used to house the new heating system and utility room.
A carefully coordinated palette of materials and standard products are then used to provide both high performance, and also a simple modern aesthetic which we believe compliments the quality and character of the period features present in the property.

12/12 Architects & PlannersThis 1990s brick home had decent square footage and a massive front yard, but no way to enjoy it. Each room needed an update, so the entire house was renovated and remodeled, and an addition was put on over the existing garage to create a symmetrical front. The old brown brick was painted a distressed white.
The 500sf 2nd floor addition includes 2 new bedrooms for their teen children, and the 12'x30' front porch lanai with standing seam metal roof is a nod to the homeowners' love for the Islands. Each room is beautifully appointed with large windows, wood floors, white walls, white bead board ceilings, glass doors and knobs, and interior wood details reminiscent of Hawaiian plantation architecture.
The kitchen was remodeled to increase width and flow, and a new laundry / mudroom was added in the back of the existing garage. The master bath was completely remodeled. Every room is filled with books, and shelves, many made by the homeowner.
