This classic Shaker Kitchen with beaded frame is anything but traditional. A heavy dose of industrial style along with some unique vintage elements gives this London kitchen a creative edge in the heart of a family home.

The design of the kitchen started with a vintage haberdashery cabinet that the client had already bought before the house renovation had begun. This was cleverly built into a tall bank of cabinets, providing open food storage and bringing warmth to the dark green cabinets, painted in Little Greene Obsidian Green. The Iroko worktops were chosen by the client to compliment the haberdashery cabinet.

The island incorporates a breakfast bar with open oak shelving and houses the dishwasher and sink, topped off with honed, pencil veined, Carrara Marble and a polished brass mixer tap with separate spray rinse. Vintage Holophane pendant lights bought from a flea market in New York add a unique and personal element to the kitchen design and provide task lighting over the island.

Brass handles, flat white metro tiles and encaustic cement hexagonal floor tiles finish off the kitchen along with the client’s vintage apothecary bottles and collection of succulents and palms.
