Steel and Marble Kitchen with Reclaimed Wood Feature

This stunning open plan kitchen and living space was a milking parlour it a previous life. For such a unique space we knew we had to come up with an incredible design. The L shaped kitchen with large island was created with space and storage in mind. A person can flow easily through the space with lots of room to cook or entertain. The floating shelves store decorative items making the kitchen feel stylish and elegant.

The reclaimed boxcar oak cabinets that houses the larder and integrated fridge and freezer anchor the room while adding a rustic touch. This oak is also repeated in the breakfast bar section of the island where the stools get tucked into bringing cohesion to the design. The rest of the materials in the kitchen: stainless steel, copper and marble, work together in harmony to create a sleek look without overwhelming the space. The pitched roof allowed a lot of light through balancing out the dark paint on the base cabinets and island. By choosing eclectic materials the kitchen feels fresh and unique and in harmony with the living space. There are just enough warm and rustic touches that link this flat panel kitchen to its roots.
