The Design Brief
Mark and Alex wanted to fit a lot of storage space into their kitchen without crowding the room so that it no longer felt like a place to sit and enjoy breakfast. They wanted to make the most of the high ceilings by creating a new chimney surround and repairing the original coving and above all they wanted to create a centrepiece centre island.

The Build
The challenge of building a custom chimney breast to house the range cooker in an offset position to the existing geometry of the room provided the toughest challenge; we actually managed to sit the fridge freezer back into the original recess of the room reducing the heavy feel of the tall cabinets whilst building the other alcove out to allow somewhere to hang the wall cabinets and allow the new coving to run in a straight line to complete the effect.
