The clients several issues to solve with their 1930's semi detached house. An extra bedroom with ensuite was needed and to extend the existing kitchen. For the loft conversion the clients wanted a solution sympathetic with the existing roofline, hence not the large box dormer often favoured to increase volume size. Fortunately the roof's ridge is particularly high, 3.2 metres. This allows two large pitch roof dormers which are more in keeping with the house's roofline. The floorspace on the rear ground floor is to become a single large open space including; kitchen dining and existing rear extension. A utility was also wished and thus a side extension added. The side extension will "wrap around" to the existing rear extension to allow for a larger kitchen. This project has received Planning Consent and is now with my Structural Engineer. Following that it will need to obtain Building Control approval.
