We’re excited to be working on a project for a young family in a densely populated area of Walsall who are looking to create more space for their growing household. We’ve successfully secured planning approval for a dormer loft conversion and have applied for a maximum rear extension within permitted development rights, currently awaiting a decision. The project has presented some interesting challenges: the house sits over a neighbouring property, so the site boundary had to be clarified with the council, and the initial council application required several amendments after a long waiting period. The client was keen on a front dormer, but the council did not allow it. Despite this, we’re focused on delivering a design that balances practical family needs with council regulations, ensuring the home is both functional and beautifully enhanced.
