Listed Townhouse Renovation on Historic Square in Islington

A beautiful renovation journey of a 4 Bedroom Listed Townhouse on historic square in Islington.
Our client was in the process of securing Listed Building Consent for renovation works to her house when she appointed us. The lovely townhouse had beautiful features, but some of the spaces lacked natural light, and prime space next to the garden was occupied by a dark bathroom & utility.
We co-ordinated a team of specialists to finalise the layouts & key details needed for listed building consent, and to detail the whole design in preparation for building control review and contractor tender and appointment.
We gave particular spatial design focus to the Kitchen-living room, utility space & bathroom. In the bathroom, we were able to maximise the natural light and created recessed shelves and niches, which combine with attractive wall lights and softly stone-effect tiles to create a light & luxurious space. We worked to ensure the newly created dining room was as light-filled as possible while still working well as a functional space.
The Utility space was compact and awkward, comprising an L-shaped under-stair space. With careful space planning we were able to fit in two laundry machines, a boiler and new cylinder. Throughout the other rooms we helped our client to source finishes to fulfil that her style vision, including beautiful new kitchen cabinet. We also gave careful thought to the interaction of the new & reconfigured internal spaces with the flow of the simplified garden.
The result is a home full of light and connected sociable spaces.
