Renovation of a 3 bedroom top floor apartment in Islington - Katie
Katie engaged us to design and manage an extensive renovation of the existing 1 bedroom flat and to build a new floor on the current under-used roof terrace of her property.
The 1st floor of the property was originally made up of a main bedroom, a bathroom and an open plan living room and kitchen. With the reconfiguration of the apartment, a new floor on the terrace space has been added.
The kitchen and living space were moved to the new floor, which has panoramic views across London. We used fully double glazed and solar treated bi-folding doors on both sides of the property to make the most of the amazing location. An open plan living room with exciting design and furnitures and a luxurious new kitchen was installed, making a stunning space.
We engaged, on Katie’s behalf, a structural engineer, Party Wall surveyor and Building Control co. to ensure all safety and regulatory issues were addressed. Fire safety was an issue for Building Control, so we suggested installing a discreet misting system, which protects the escape route.
We are thrilled with the results, a spacious, bright, light sanctuary in the heart of North London.
