Basement Box
Our client, having recently moved to this Georgian townhouse in central Brighton, briefed us with the creation of a basement conversion ideally containing a steam room. For this project we specified an innovative solution to the regular damp-prone and poorly insulated basement conversions we've seen in the past. Following the underpinning and dig-out process, we had a passiv standard, fire retardant SIP system manufactured and installed for the client. Utilising this modern method of construction we designed and delivered a basement conversion like no other - made from a rot proof, fire retardant and slimline product, these SIPs were manufactured offsite and put together on site with minimal alteration. Originally scheduled as a half house basement, the space was extended by over 100% at only 50% extra expenditure. The client has a living room/library space, steam room with adjacent washroom facilities, and access to the rear garden where previously there was a small cavity room under the rear dining room.
