Tivoli # 2
Phase 1 of the project was to redesign the front garden. Originally this was a crumbling and dangerous access from an elevated highway down to the front of house. With a view to enabling safe access and an improved view from the house to an engaging garden space, plans were drawn up and works commenced in 2018.
Concept and developed designs for the main house were formulated during the construction of the first phase. Successful planning application on this unifying rear extension was also secured. The property had two separate lower ground floor extensions that effectively segregated the living, dining and kitchen spaces.
Our clients were frustrated by the lack of social connection between the rooms, and had struggled to envisage how to overcome this problem. With the internal remodelling and unifying extension we have created a better flow through from kitchen, dining to living room, and freed up ground floor space for a master bathroom with ensuite. Designs for a larger first floor family bathroom and a study space have also been commissioned.
Phase 2 build programme spanned Covid-19 lockdown without too much delay and some creative project management solutions applied to the health and safety concerns and contractor/supply chain disruptions.
