Our clients had purchased a dilapidated 6-storey townhouse within a conservation area. The brief was to create two studio apartments and a main 4-bed residency. After reviewing the clients' initial ideas and our first site visit, we began formulating concept designs. This process continued whilst dismantling of the property began, and remained fluid throughout the build process given the unique and often challenging nature of the original building fabric.

The project required a rebuild of the rear extension, front bay and balcony, replacement of roof, introduction of two stairwells; one 4-storey-spanning metal, oak and glass masterpiece for the main residency, one hardwood traditional staircase for the two studios. This all required some fairly intense internal/structural rebuilding.

We created a stunning kitchen-living space, a basement studio space which was scheduled to be set up as a film studio for our 'YouTube' clients, 3 bedrooms; one with ensuite facilities, a master bathroom with tub, walk-in shower and adjacent steam room facilities.

Other unusual features include the restoration of a marble fireplace that was literally buried behind a false wall and a 'floating' bed (credit to LEVITAS DESIGN)
