This kitchen extension in Earlsfield is an exciting combination of lighting, vaulted ceilings and bold structural design. The pitched roofs and large frameless skylights helps angle natural light into original zones which compliments a clever lighting design. Glass bifolding doors and a flush patio helps to create a more connected indoor outdoor space. A small part of the wall has been left exposed, this helps to break up the clean lines and pull in the warm colours in the rest of the space. A clever design decision was blocking the access in from the rear reception whilst retaining part of the opening for natural light. This not only reduces the traffic paths through the room but allows the kitchen units to wraparound this space. By creating more wall space for the kitchen this allows more functionality to the rest of the room.
