Choosing a fabulous alternative flooring for your Staircase in Histon, Cambridge

The problem
The client, an owner of a lovely manor House in the Cambridge Area came to Art of Flooring, looking for a Stair Runner for her Main Entrance Hall Stairway to replace a beautiful but old and worn runner and needed advice on the best options for her.

In the showroom
When she visited the Cambridge store she already knew she wanted a runner and had heard of Off the Loom, a brand which makes high quality, flatweave stair runners.

A range of options were discussed and the client was advised on the most appropriate runner pattern for her stairs.

Art of Flooring are suppliers and installers for Off the Loom Carpets in Cambridge and can show you a full range of colour swatches in the showroom to help you make a perfect choice.

Our client had been considering a diamond pattern however due to the bend at the top of the stairs this wouldn’t have worked. The pattern wouldn’t have met up as it went around the corner at the top and the diamond shape would have been lost. Alternatives were looked to find what would work best in this situation to create the perfect look for her.

Our client chose an Off the Loom Felton Border Cargo Grey Flatweave Runner with a striped pattern, this definitely would work in her setting and many others too!

The runner was fitted ensuring that the striped pattern matched up as the runner went around corners at the top of the stair. She also found a similar style Herringbone carpet to match to go across the landing.

The Off the Loom runner looks stunning on the staircase and makes a lovely alternative to carpet if you are looking for something different. Being wool, it is durable and offers a very high-end look to your staircase as well as helping to reduce noise on your staircase. Rec

What is an Off the Loom Stair Runner?
Off the Loom stair runners are flatweave carpet runners for your staircase which you may like to choose instead of a carpet.

They are made from 100% New Zealand Wool with 3 ply yarn and so are particularly sumptuous and hard wearing; perfect for somewhere like stairs in a busy home.

They are available in a range of colours and widths so you can make the right choice to suit your style.

Flatweave stair runners are very specialist, so it should not be installed by fitters who do not have the correct experience with this material.

To sum up
We LOVE the look that is created by this Flatweave stair runner over the wooden boards.
