Lano Dream Smartstrand - Multi coloured synthetic carpet in Hauxton

Lano Dream Smartstrand - Multi coloured synthetic carpet in Hauxton

We were approached by our client who owns a home in Hauxton and she asked us to supply and install Carpet in the master bedroom, landing and stairs.

It was a unique project with a brilliant outcome, so have a look at the case study to learn how it unfolded.

The showroom

When our client came to the showroom, there were two parts to the brief; it would have to work well in a home with her working Cocker Spaniel, Pebble, and it had to be ‘something funky’.

With this in mind we set to work to find the best possible product for her.

When people ask for something different – or in this case funky - colours and patterns are what spring to mind, so Phil worked with our client to discuss a range of patterns and colours which would have the potential to be fun and unique.

Some years ago for one of our early projects, we fitted a carpet with alternating colours on the stairs and knowing this had been a hugely successful project Phil also suggested this as an idea.

Our client loved it and with inspiration and a plan in mind she took away multiple samples to work out the best possible colour combinations to create this same effect. The colours needed to work well together, but they also needed to work well in a home with a dog. It would need to hide marks and hair that no doubt would come from Pebble.

In a home with pets, a synthetic carpet is a wise choice as it is easy to clean and wipe marks from, so Phil advised that the Lano Dream Smartstrand Carpet (a synthetic fibre) would be a great choice for her needs. It also comes in a vast array of colour choices.

The decision

After some deliberation, the colours were chosen.

For the master bedroom she chose the colour cobblestone which is a greyish tone.

For the landing a gold leaf was picked and for the stairs our client was able to bring in the element of funky that she had hoped for. She chose to alternate cobblestone, celadon (a green colour) and the gold leaf which was to be on the final riser and to run into the landing too.

The fitting

In terms of fitting, this job was a straightforward case of take out the old and replace with the new. We just needed to be mindful to ensure that the pattern alternated correctly and ended with the gold leaf at the top ready to meet the gold on the landing, so Phil wrote on the stairs and risers to indicate which colour would go where. We didn’t want any confusion!

In summary

We love this end result. It worked well for our client in terms of being pet friendly (both in fibre and colour) and it is a really fun carpet which definitely fits the brief! We hope you love it as much as we do.
