Oak Plank Floor in Willingham
Oak Plank Floor in Willingham
The Project
Not all installs just require the new floor to be laid. This project was to install Oak Plank in Willingham, but not before we completed some renovation work beforehand.
Making a mess
Due to the age of the property before any work could be undertaken the subfloors had to be made sound.
What came out?
We began by ripping up the creaky, worn and draughty pine floor. Then we created new stable structures and fitted with insulation in-between joists to create a stable sub floor. The client also had a partitioned wall removed between rooms.
Ensuring a sound base for your new floor is critical no matter that type of flooring you are choosing as failure do so can give rise to problems, such as warping, lifting, cracking down the line. It is always better to get it right from the start, cutting no corners.
Making good
What went in?
We installed a new, firmly fixed engineered oak plank with underlay both for insulation and to help extend the life of the new flooring. The whole job was completed within two weeks.
Engineered Oak is a very popular choice for many reasons. It is easy to clean and due to the way it is made with numerous layers, makes it strong and stable and a popular choice in rooms like kitchens where it may face high traffic and damage.

As part of a new offer we are working and as a gift for choosing Art of Flooring we gave our client Family National Trust Memberships. There are so many National Trust Properties in the area so we hope they enjoy those experiences as much as we hope they enjoy their new floor!
