Carpet and wood collaboration in Foxton with interior designer Jennifer Chong
At Art of Flooring the relationships we build are hugely important. This includes client relations, supplier relations and also relationships with those we collaborate with, like interior designers.
We were delighted to be part of a project that Jennifer Chong of FEIOI Interior Design was managing at a house in Foxton.
What was the project?
The project, based in Foxton, was to install carpet and wood flooring throughout the house.
We installed carpet across a large portion of the house. This part of the work was straightforward and included supplying and fitting Tolenzo Chelsea wool loop carpet in the playroom, office, landing and four bedrooms.
This gave a flowing continuity to the home, and being a wool carpet, this Tolenzo is hardwearing, meaning it has longevity and will stay looking stunning for a long time to come.
We also supplied and installed a Off the Loom Flatweave Carpet Runner on the Staircase in Gainsford Mineral Grey. We love carpet runners as they give all the benefits of carpets such as grip which is so important on stairs, soundproofing and underfoot comfort. Runners also have the added bonus of combining their own wonderful look with that of the wood flooring that you can still see underneath.
In addition to the carpet, we also supplied and installed a wood flooring with insulation in the hallway. Although this was a smaller space, it was the area that required the most labour. This part of the job required:
Removal of the old floorboards.
Installation of PIR Insulation Board.
Installation of new engineered wood plank flooring.
Fitting a custom doormat.
Reinstallation of skirting boards to conceal the expansion gap.
It is attention to detail in this type of job that is so important, and points like ensuring fitting of doormats around the wood and covering expansion gaps are as critical to a successful outcome as ensuring planks are laid correctly.
